Oman step up preparations for China challenge

Oman's national youth handball team has entered the final stage of preparations for the Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship after arriving in Chuzhou, China, ahead of the continental tournament.

The squad held its first training session on Tuesday under Tunisian head coach Kamel Hadidder, focusing on tactical and technical preparations for the opening Group match against Saudi Arabia. Training centred on attacking and defensive systems, match scenarios and final tactical adjustments.

Hadidder said the team had made encouraging progress despite only six weeks of preparation. After beginning with physical conditioning and friendly matches against Yemen, Oman strengthened their preparations by competing in an international tournament in Dubai against the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.

'The tournament was extremely valuable because we faced stronger opposition, which helped raise our performance level and build confidence,' Hadidder said.

He added that Tuesday's session was dedicated to analysing Saudi Arabia's style of play, urging his players to compete with confidence, discipline and pride.

Although Oman has been drawn alongside Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and hosts China, Hadidder believes teamwork and tactical discipline can help the team achieve positive results.

The players also expressed confidence after their first training session, praising the team's preparations and the Oman Handball Association's support. Oman will continue daily training sessions before opening their campaign against Saudi Arabia.
