MUSCAT: The National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA) launched on Sunday the activities of the sixth edition of the 'Little Documentary Guide' programme. Organised by the Department of Documentary Exhibitions, the programme runs until July 16 at the Permanent Exhibition of National Records and Archives.
The programme comes within the framework of the Authority's efforts to utilise the summer vacation to develop the capabilities of youth and enhance their awareness of the importance of national documents. This is achieved through a training programme that combines lectures, practical workshops, and field tours, aiming to develop guiding, communication, and public speaking skills, while consolidating the values of national identity and belonging.
The programme includes introductory visits to the Authority's facilities and practical applications in documentary guiding within the Permanent Exhibition. It also features panel discussions with successful youth models in the fields of Holy Quran memorisation, scientific innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital content creation, in addition to cultural competitions and awareness lectures that contribute to refining the participants' skills.
Ahmed bin Mohammed al Sabahi, Head of the Exhibition Organisation Section at the National Records and Archives Authority, said that the programme embodies the Authority's interest in investing in the energy of youth by introducing them to the role of documents in preserving national memory and providing them with guiding and communication skills. This contributes to preparing a generation that is aware of the value of documents, proud of its national identity, and capable of presenting information in a scientific and engaging manner. - ONA
