Khasab summer camp concludes with focus on youth development

MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Musandam concluded its five-day Summer Youth Camp at the Khasab Sports Complex, held in cooperation with Al Fhood Academy as part of the fifth Musandam Summer programme and the Summer Sports initiative.

More than 70 young participants from governorates across Oman took part in the camp, which featured a diverse programme of sports activities, educational sessions, skills workshops, team-building exercises and recreational events aimed at developing leadership, communication and personal skills.

Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Mulla al Shuhi, Director of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Musandam, said the camp reflects the ministry's commitment to providing quality programmes that make productive use of the summer break while empowering young people and enhancing their capabilities.

He noted that the initiative also highlighted effective community partnership through collaboration with Al Fhood Academy, creating an integrated environment that combined sports training with educational and personal development activities.

Al Shuhi said the strong participation and high level of commitment demonstrated by attendees underscored the success of the programme in achieving its educational and youth development objectives.

The closing ceremony honoured participants, organisers and supervisors in recognition of their contributions to the camp's success. Al Shuhi also thanked the Office of the Governor of Musandam for its support, as well as Al Fhood Academy, volunteers and organisers for their efforts.

He affirmed that the directorate will continue implementing summer programmes across Musandam, including activities at the Khasab Sports Complex, local clubs and Lima Sports Centre, with the aim of expanding youth participation and supporting the development of future generations.
