Oman’s average July temperature hits 33.9°C

Experts say that continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity trends is essential to understanding climate patterns and strengthening national efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman recorded an average temperature of 33.9°C and an average relative humidity of 54.7 per cent during July 2025, according to the latest climate indicators released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The data reflect Oman's typical summer conditions, with high temperatures accompanied by elevated humidity levels across much of the country.
According to the NCSI, weather conditions varied across the governorates due to Oman's diverse geography. Coastal areas experienced higher humidity, making temperatures feel even hotter, while inland regions recorded higher daytime temperatures under comparatively drier conditions.
The climate statistics provide an important reference for government institutions, businesses and the public in planning seasonal activities and implementing appropriate precautionary measures during the summer months.
The NCSI noted that climate data also support key sectors, including public health, energy, agriculture, water resources and transportation, by providing reliable information for operational planning and long-term policy development.

Experts say continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity trends is essential for understanding climate patterns and strengthening national efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
Higher humidity levels can significantly increase heat stress, particularly for outdoor workers and those engaged in physical activity during peak daytime hours. Authorities continue to advise the public to follow heat safety measures, including staying well hydrated, limiting direct exposure to the sun during the hottest parts of the day and taking extra precautions to protect vulnerable groups.
The NCSI continues to publish comprehensive environmental, economic and social statistics, reinforcing Oman's national data ecosystem and supporting evidence-based policymaking in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The latest climate indicators underscore the importance of official weather statistics in enhancing public awareness and helping institutions and individuals better prepare for seasonal weather conditions across the Sultanate of Oman.
