MUSCAT: The Council of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) held its third meeting for the academic year 2025/2026 at the university’s headquarters in Muscat on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Anwar bin Hilal al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Chairman of the University Council.
The Council reviewed the follow-up report on the implementation of the decisions from the second meeting of the academic year 2025/2026. It examined the level of progress in executing the decisions issued in the previous meeting, as well as the measures taken by various academic and administrative sectors of the university. This contributes to ensuring the execution of decisions within the specified time frames and achieving their desired objectives.
During the meeting, the Council approved the admission plan for the academic year 2026/2027, estimated at 12,000 male and female students, in coordination with the Higher Education Admission Centre at the Ministry of Education.
Additionally, it approved the awarding of academic degrees to students who successfully completed their graduation requirements in the spring semester of the academic year 2025/2026, totalling 2,112 male and female graduates. — ONA
