MUSCAT, JULY 1
Oman Air, the Sultanate of Oman's national carrier, announced its addition of five new destinations, a landmark milestone in its rapid network expansion and the largest number of sectors in a month.
Starting on July 2, the airline will start direct flights to Singapore and Sochi, while Tashkent and its first direct Dubai-Salalah connection will begin on July 3. The airline also announced that its Abu Dhabi service will begin on July 9, which will bring its network up to 49 destinations.
Speaking to the Observer, Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said that attracting more passengers would result in an increased volume of inbound tourism, supporting national growth.
'We expect that the addition of these five new destinations will help our guests to explore Oman in a more productive way and be the ambassadors of Oman Tourism abroad. They also support us in enhancing business relations and in bolstering better cultural relations with the rest of the world,' Al Busaidy said.
Con Korfiatis, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, said, 'The launch of five new routes in a single month marks a defining moment for Oman Air. It reflects not only the pace of our transformation but also our ambition to connect Oman to more of the world than ever before. Every new destination we add not only strengthens our network but, most importantly, brings more people into Oman,' he said.
'From the total revamp two years ago, the airline has been on a steady growth trajectory, and we are ambitious to keep exploring newer destinations on the path to 'the best airline' in pursuance of Oman Vision 2040,' he added.
Over the past 18 months, Oman Air has steadily strengthened its international footprint through a combination of new destinations and strategic partnerships. From joining the oneworld Alliance in June 2025 and launching services to Amsterdam, Rome and Taif, as well as charter flights to Hanoi and Moscow, Oman Air has remained focused on developing a route network that responds to changing travel demand while supporting Oman Vision 2040 by enhancing connectivity and facilitating tourism, trade and investment.
'We hope our guests enjoy discovering these incredible destinations with us, and they can look forward to many more exciting developments from Oman Air in the months ahead,' adds Korfiatis.
Guests will be able to choose from four weekly flights to Singapore, two weekly flights to Tashkent, one weekly flight to Sochi, three weekly flights between Dubai and Salalah, and daily flights to Abu Dhabi.
