HM The Sultan Gives Audience to Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Qatar

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday to Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

At the beginning of the audience, the guest conveyed the greetings of Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. He also conveyed the Emir’s good wishes to His Majesty for abundant health and happiness, and to the Omani people for continuous progress and prosperity.

For his part, His Majesty the Sultan asked the guest to convey his heartfelt sentiments and good wishes to the Emir and to the Qatari people.

The audience reviewed the trajectory of the ongoing US-Iranian negotiations, conducted through Qatari-Pakistani mediation, alongside the latest developments in diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and reaching a definitive and comprehensive settlement of the crisis.

His Majesty the Sultan underscored the imperative of advancing these endeavors to secure peace and stability in the region, while emphasizing the vital importance of harmonizing the constructive initiatives undertaken by sisterly and friendly nations in this regard.

The guest praised the pivotal role undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, in supporting paths of dialogue, furnishing communication channels, and bridging views between the various parties.

From the Omani side, the audience was attended by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office and Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-large at the Foreign Ministry.

From the Qatari side, it was attended by Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hamad bin Khamis al Kubaisi, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council, and Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman.
