NIZWA, JUNE 23
With the participation of 1,000 male and female students, alongside dedicated teachers and educational supervisors from various wilayats of Al Dakhiliyah, the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate successfully concluded its 2026 summer programme, 'A Generation Building the Future.'
Over several weeks of the summer break, the programme transformed into a vibrant hub of ideas and scientific experimentation, offering an unconventional educational experience that broke away from traditional summer activities.
This year's journey immersed participants in the worlds of technology and innovation. Students engaged in hands-on experiences across cutting-edge fields, including educational robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, cybersecurity, nanotechnology, geographic information systems (GIS) and 3D printing. Additionally, the programme featured specialised tracks, including the 'Young Innovator' programme and various STEM projects.
To maximise reach and provide interactive environments that spark curiosity and discovery, activities were strategically distributed across innovation centres, learning resource rooms, and specialised educational centres throughout the governorate's wilayats.
The young innovators applied their knowledge by designing practical projects and innovative models. This approach directly enhanced their skills in scientific research, design thinking and teamwork.
The programme’s outcomes have yielded a promising wealth of student-led ideas and initiatives, paving the way for future participation in national and international scientific competitions. This success underscores a vital truth: investing in the summer break goes far beyond merely filling time; it is about shaping a future and a ready generation equipped with the tools to lead in an ever-evolving world of science and technology.
