Rudaina bint Amer al Hajri, President of the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association, Board Member of Oman Hockey and Head of the Women’s Sports Committee at the federation, has been honoured with the Best Woman in the Middle East in Events and Sports Award for 2026 at a glittering ceremony held in Dubai.
The award was presented by Shaikh Eng Salem bin Sultan al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah, during a Gulf-wide ceremony attended by delegates, dignitaries and prominent personalities from across the region.
The recognition comes in appreciation of Al Hajri’s outstanding contributions to community service and women’s empowerment, as well as her efforts in organising and managing impactful events and initiatives. It also recognises her role in strengthening women’s participation in sports and supporting their active engagement across various sectors.
Speaking to the Observer, Al Hajri expressed pride in receiving the award, describing it as an encouragement to continue her contributions to society.
She said the recognition reflects the support and empowerment Omani women enjoy under the Renewed Renaissance and helps showcase Omani talent at both regional and international levels.
“This award adds a greater sense of responsibility towards my community work, women’s leadership initiatives and sports. It also reaffirms the status of Omani women and their ability to excel and lead on the international stage,” Al Hajri said.
