How to apply for Khareef Dhofar 2026 plates online?

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has launched an online application service for commemorative white vehicle license plates marking the Khareef Dhofar 2026 season, allowing motorists to request the special edition plates digitally using their existing vehicle registration details.

The service is available through multiple digital platforms, including the official ROP portal (www.rop.gov.om) and the ROP mobile application, in an effort to streamline applications and manage anticipated demand from citizens and residents.

ROP has issued a step-by-step guide outlining the application process via its mobile app. Users must first log in and access the “Documents Services” section, then select their vehicle and choose the option “Request Dhofar Khareef Plates”.

Applicants are then required to specify plate sizes for the front and rear according to vehicle type, select a preferred ROP service center for collection, and ensure contact details are up to date.

Before proceeding to payment, users must review and accept the terms and conditions governing the promotional plates. The final steps involve confirming application details, proceeding to the payment gateway, and securely entering banking card information to complete the transaction.

Meanwhile, the ROP clarified key regulations governing the initiative, noting that the commemorative plates are valid from June 1 to December 31, 2026. The plates retain the vehicle’s original registration number without alteration, and all standard traffic laws, registration requirements, and insurance rules remain fully applicable.

Once applications are approved, applicants will be notified to collect their plates from the selected service centre.

The ROP encouraged motorists to use digital channels to avoid queues and take part in the seasonal initiative reflecting Dhofar’s peak tourism period during the Khareef season.
