MUSANDAM: The Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Musandam Governorate is preparing to launch the fifth edition of the Musandam Summer Programme 2026, which coincides with the implementation of the Summer Sports Programme, as part of efforts to make productive use of the summer holiday period and provide diverse opportunities for children and youth to develop their skills and talents.
The programme aims to offer a comprehensive range of sports, cultural, social and youth activities targeting different age groups of both males and females in a safe and stimulating environment.
As part of the Summer Sports Programme, participants will have access to training in football, handball, swimming, badminton and fitness activities, in addition to a sports camp. The activities will be delivered through organised training programmes supervised by specialised coaches and instructors.
The fifth Musandam Summer Programme will also feature a variety of cultural and creative activities designed to nurture talent and enhance participants’ creative abilities. These include acrylic painting workshops, story-writing sessions, a cultural forum for intellectuals from Musandam Governorate, a photography exhibition and a photography competition titled 'The Family Between the Past and Present'.
The programme will further include workshops on virtual reality and content creation, among other initiatives aimed at promoting knowledge, creativity and modern skills.
Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Mulla al Shihi, Director of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Musandam Governorate, said the programme has been carefully designed to provide a balanced mix of sports, cultural and youth activities that cater to the interests and aspirations of various age groups across the governorate.
He noted that the activities will not be limited to the directorate’s facilities and the Khasab Sports Complex, but will also be implemented in cooperation with all four sports clubs in the governorate — Khasab, Bukha, Dibba and Madha — in addition to Lima Sports Centre. The initiative aims to expand the reach of the programme and maximise participation across all wilayats of Musandam.
Al Shihi added that the directorate is committed to providing an attractive and safe environment for participants through purposeful activities that help develop talents, strengthen personal and social skills, promote teamwork and foster a sense of national belonging, while encouraging young people to make constructive use of their free time.
He explained that registration for the summer programmes and activities will be conducted electronically through a dedicated registration link and QR code, calling on parents and young people across the governorate to register and benefit from the diverse activities on offer.
The fifth Musandam Summer Programme is expected to attract broad participation from different segments of society, reflecting the diversity of its activities and the directorate’s commitment to delivering a rich summer season that combines learning, skill development and recreation.
