ROP foil attempted vehicle smuggling in Dhofar

Muscat: The General Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with the Dhofar Governorate Police Command, has foiled an attempted vehicle smuggling operation and arrested two suspects of Arab nationalities.

According to the Royal Oman Police, the suspects had allegedly planned the operation in advance. One of the accused reportedly rented the vehicle and handed it over to the second suspect in preparation for illegally taking it out of the country.

Legal procedures against the suspects are currently underway, the police said.
