Schools honoured at School Creativity Award ceremony in Muscat

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education celebrated the conclusion of the second edition of the School Creativity Award in Muscat, honouring winning schools under the auspices of Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture.
The award, organised in cooperation with OMIFCO, saw participation from 163 schools across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with 33 schools qualifying for the final rounds. Three schools from each governorate competed across three categories: grades 1–4, boys’ schools for grades 5–12, and girls’ schools for grades 5–12.
In the first-cycle category (grades 1–4), Dibba School from Musandam came in first place, followed by Zamzam School from Al Batinah North in second place, and Al Jouba School from Al Wusta in third.
In the boys’ schools category (grades 5–12), Bal’arab Bin Sultan School from Al Dakhiliyah secured first place, Azzan Bin Qais School from Al Buraimi took second, while Shaikh Saif Bin Hamad Al Aghbari School from Al Sharqiyah North placed third.
In the girls’ schools category (grades 5–12), Ibri School from Al Dhahirah won first place, Al Amal School from Al Batinah South came second, and Al Aflaj School from Al Sharqiyah North secured third place.
Speaking on behalf of the ministry, Saif bin Mubarak al Jalandani, Director-General of the Directorate-General for School Performance Development, said the award represents an educational experience that goes beyond competition and recognition, contributing to improved school performance and a stronger culture of creativity and excellence.
He said the initiative has helped encourage schools to develop sustainable educational projects, strengthen institutional work, and enhance student engagement, while linking school plans to measurable learning outcomes and improved learning environments.
Qasim bin Mohammed al Balushi, Strategic Director of Social Investment at OMIFCO, said the award reflects values of dedication and excellence while supporting sustainability in education and highlighting schools that foster innovation and creativity.
The award, which focuses on administrative organisation, strategic planning, community partnership and quality of performance, aims to strengthen school leadership, improve institutional efficiency and enhance academic outcomes in line with Oman Vision 2040 education objectives.
The ceremony also featured a visual presentation showcasing the stages of the award and initiatives implemented by participating schools, along with a poetry segment highlighting the spirit and impact of the programme across Oman’s education sector. — ONA
