SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE
Speaking to Oman Observer, Oman Athletics national team head coach Mohammed al Hooti highlighted the significance of the championship for the young athlete’s development. “This participation was extremely important for Ahmed al Jabri as part of his long-term development pathway. He competed in two events, with the 100m being his primary discipline. Reaching the semifinal stage and improving his personal record is a positive achievement, particularly considering the limited preparation period leading up to the championship,” Al Hooti said.
“The 200m event also provided valuable international exposure and experience. Overall, we are satisfied with Ahmed’s performance and the progress he has shown. Our main objective is to prepare him for the senior national team, and we believe he possesses the talent, capabilities and experience required to represent Oman at a higher level in the coming years,” he added.
Oman’s delegation to the championship was headed by Mohammed al Shukaili, board member of the Oman Athletics Association (OAA), alongside head coach Mohammed al Hooti and athlete Ahmed al Jabri.
