Tajawob platform turns public ideas into national initiatives

Muscat: The national platform for suggestions, complaints and reports, Tajawob, recorded more than 2.6 million visits and 785,000 active users by the end of May 2026, reflecting growing public engagement with government services.

According to figures presented during the second Tajawob and Integration Forum, the platform received more than 235,000 requests, including over 85,000 complaints, nearly 90,000 reports, more than 16,000 suggestions and over 43,000 inquiries.

The forum, hosted by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), brought together more than 300 employees representing central and executive teams, as well as communication and media units from 56 government entities connected to the national platform.

The event formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional integration and enhance beneficiary engagement through the exchange of expertise and best practices. Discussions focused on opportunities to improve processing efficiency, response times and the overall quality of government services.

Participants reviewed operational performance indicators, quality assurance measures and compliance with approved methodologies. The forum also highlighted a number of success stories and platform-driven improvements that have accelerated request handling and strengthened coordination among government institutions.

Several entities shared their experiences, including MTCIT’s efforts to enhance operational integration and improve the management of requests received through the platform. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources showcased initiatives aimed at increasing response speed and improving the quality of follow-up and case handling, demonstrating the positive impact of institutional cooperation on service delivery.

The forum also featured an extensive discussion session during which participants explored development opportunities, operational initiatives and proposals aimed at improving efficiency, standardising procedures and leveraging operational data to support decision-making and institutional performance.

Community feedback submitted through the platform has contributed to the implementation of a range of developmental and legislative initiatives across various sectors. Among them, MTCIT installed crash-absorbing barriers along Sultan Thuwaini bin Said Road to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. The ministry also introduced regulations governing the operation of foreign ships and maritime units conducting ship-to-ship transfer activities within Oman’s territorial waters, helping to improve the efficiency and regulation of maritime operations.

In North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, several road and public facility improvement projects were carried out in response to community needs. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism provided electric vehicle charging stations at hotel facilities to support sustainable transportation and strengthen the tourism sector’s readiness for green transformation.

In support of entrepreneurship, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority launched a ready-made factory initiative to enable entrepreneurs to establish industrial ventures more efficiently. The authority also introduced a Local Added Value Day to increase the participation of national enterprises in supply chains and boost their contribution to economic development.

Public engagement through the platform has also highlighted the importance of strengthening legislative frameworks that support social empowerment. As a result, a number of benefits and facilities for persons with disabilities were incorporated into the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, reinforcing their rights and promoting their active participation in society.

The forum reaffirmed the commitment of government institutions to enhancing coordination, knowledge-sharing and beneficiary engagement management, contributing to a more efficient and flexible operating environment, improved public services and greater community participation in line with Oman’s digital transformation goals and efforts to elevate government performance.
