MoE, Oman Broadband Company sign entrepreneurship programme

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education (MoE) and Oman Broadband Company on Tuesday signed a cooperation programme to support a summer initiative titled “Young Merchant”. The cooperation programme seeks to promote entrepreneurship among students from grades 7 to 11.
The cooperation programme was signed by Dr Faisal bin Ali al Busaidy, Director-General of Information and Communication Technology at the Ministry of Education, and Eng Khalfan bin Mohammed al Amri, Executive Vice-President of Technology at Oman Broadband Company.
The programme aims to instil a culture of entrepreneurship in young people and foster entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy and practical skills among students through applied learning experiences that develop their ability to innovate.
Dr Faisal said, “This programme constitutes an important step to consolidate the existing partnership with private sector establishments and to support initiatives that integrate education with practical application.” He added that the “Young Merchant” initiative contributes to furnishing an educational environment that stimulates creativity and empowers students with future skills in the fields of entrepreneurship and the knowledge economy.
Eng Khalfan said, “This partnership reflects Oman Broadband Company’s commitment to support educational initiatives that have a social impact, empower students with entrepreneurial and financial skills and introduce a culture of innovation in the early stages of education to develop a generation that is capable of converting ideas into real projects.” - ONA
