Oman’s national beach handball team is gearing up for another global challenge as it prepares to compete in the 12th IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championship, scheduled to take place in Croatia from June 23 to 28.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) has confirmed the tournament schedule, with Oman drawn in Group D alongside host nation Croatia, France and Australia in what is expected to be one of the most competitive groups of the championship.
Oman will begin its campaign against Croatia on June 23 at 3:00 pm Muscat time before facing France later the same day at 8:00 pm. The team will conclude its preliminary-round matches against Australia on June 24 at 3:00 pm.
Group A features Spain, Portugal, Iran and the United States, while Group B consists of Hungary, Denmark, Tunisia and Puerto Rico. Group C includes Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Italy.
The tournament will begin with a single round-robin preliminary stage, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the main round before the competition moves into the knockout stages starting from the quarterfinals.

As part of its preparations, Oman continues intensive training sessions at the sand courts of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher under the guidance of national head coach Hamood bin Salim al Hassani and assistant coach Jaber bin Yaqoub al Balushi.
The team is also scheduled to hold a training camp in Croatia ahead of the championship, including participation in an international friendly tournament from June 18 to 21 featuring eight national teams. The event will provide valuable match practice and an opportunity for the technical staff to evaluate tactical options before the start of the World Championship.
Oman will be making its ninth appearance at the Beach Handball World Championship and is aiming to deliver another strong performance on the international stage. The team hopes to build on its extensive experience and the growing reputation of Omani beach handball in continental and global competitions.
The squad includes Mehdi al Suleimani, Yasser al Harthy, Saeed al Hassani, Hudhaifa al Siyabi, Hamad al Hassani, Ahmed al Ghailani, Abdulhakim al Siyabi, al Yazan al Busaidy, Saeed al Hassani, Muhannad al Zarafi and Asaad al Hassani.
