Pilgrims celebrate Eid in Mina with tradition and joy

MECCA: The Omani pilgrims’ camp in Mina was filled with an atmosphere of tranquillity and joy as pilgrims performed the Haj rituals and celebrated the blessed days of Eid Al Adha.
Omani pilgrims exchanged Eid greetings and congratulations while preserving cherished traditions, preparing traditional Omani dishes and donning authentic Omani attire after emerging from the state of Ihram.
Kamal bin Hamid al Muslihi, one of the Omani pilgrims, said that pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman remain committed to preserving inherited customs during the Eid period following the completion of Haj rituals.
“After performing the pilgrimage and during our stay in Mina, Omani pilgrims are keen to exchange Eid greetings and prepare traditional foods in an atmosphere of happiness and gratitude for being blessed to perform Haj,” he said.
He noted that the Omani camps during the days of Tashreeq reflect the country’s rich social traditions, with Omani sweets and coffee served to fellow pilgrims, while visits between camps continue in a spirit of generosity and brotherhood that defines Omani society.
Another pilgrim, Ahmed bin Salem al Shraiqi, said the Mina camp was marked by calm and serenity, while the sounds of Eid takbirs and remembrance of Allah resonated throughout the surroundings in glorification of the Almighty.
“The atmosphere of Eid joy and celebration prevailed throughout the camp, reflecting customs that Omanis strive to uphold whether at home or while travelling,” he said.
The Oman Haj Mission annually prepares Mina camps to accommodate pilgrims during the Day of Tarwiyah and the days of Tashreeq, ensuring they are able to perform rituals with ease and comfort while celebrating Eid Al Adha in a safe and organised environment. - ONA
