MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, offered Eid Al Adha prayer on Wednesday at Al Khor Mosque in Muscat.
He was joined in prayer by several other members of the Royal Family, Their Highnesses, as well as ministers and senior officials.
The congregation was led by Dr Shaikh Kahlan bin Nabhan al Kharousi, Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.
The sermon reflected on the meanings of Eid Al Adha and the values it embodies: faith, obedience and unity. It emphasised that these days renew Muslims' connection with the Almighty Allah through devotion, remembrance, submission and gratitude, while reminding them that Islam is a religion of mercy, moderation and justice.
The sermon also addressed the current state of the world, marked by turmoil, injustice and moral imbalance. It reaffirmed the Muslim's duty to uphold truth, justice and wisdom; and to avoid being drawn into oppression or hatred. — ONA
