MECCA: The Oman Haj Mission is pressing ahead with its services to Omani pilgrims on the Day of Tarwiyah — the 8th Day of Dhul Hijjah, which is actually the first day of the Haj pilgrimage.
The mission is taking care of an influx of Omani pilgrims to the holy site of Mina, providing them with administrative, medical and guidance services to enable them to perform their rituals in the best possible manner.
Dr Zahir bin Abdullah al Hosni, Deputy Head of the Oman Haj Mission (for Haj Affairs and Haj Companies), affirmed that the mission is conducting an integrated organisational plan aimed at providing the best services to Omani pilgrims, in coordination with the authorities concerned in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr Zahir urged pilgrims to adhere to the medical and administrative guidelines and to cooperate with the supervisors and Haj campaigns.
Lt Col Ahmed bin Hamad al Bartamani, Head of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) delegation affiliated to the Oman Haj Mission, said that the ROP's delegation undertakes organisational roles aimed at enhancing the security and safety of Omani pilgrims.
Lt Col Ahmed al Bartamani said that the ROP’s delegation devised specialised emergency plans to deal with human density and exceptional cases in the camps of Mina and Arafat.
The Day of Tarwiyah is the penultimate main Day of Haj — the Day of Arafa. Pilgrims flock to Mina camp to spend the night there in preparation for standing at Mount Arafat on Tuesday, Day of Arafa — the 9th of Dhul Hijjah. — ONA
