Pilgrims arrive in Mina for Hajj rituals

The annual Hajj pilgrimage officially commenced on Monday, corresponding to 8 Dhul Hijjah, 1447 AH, known as the Day of Tarwiyah, marking the beginning of the six-day spiritual journey undertaken by millions of pilgrims from around the world.

Pilgrims began arriving in Mina to perform the five daily prayers and spend the night in preparation for the standing at Arafat, the pinnacle of Hajj rituals, scheduled for the following day.

The Hajj season comprises six significant days, including the Day of Tarwiyah, Arafat Day, Eid al Adha — also known as the Day of Sacrifice — and the three Days of Tashreeq.

Saudi authorities confirmed that all necessary arrangements and operational plans have been completed to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage season. Various government entities, led by the KSA's Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, have intensified efforts to provide comprehensive services for pilgrims across the holy sites.

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced that more than 1.52 million pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom through all international entry points for the 1447 AH Hajj season.

According to the latest statistics, around 1.4 million pilgrims entered via airports, while 54,100 arrived through land border crossings and 6,497 through sea ports.

Last year, the total number of pilgrims performing Hajj reached approximately 1.67 million from both inside and outside the Kingdom.

Authorities continue to monitor pilgrim movement and implement integrated service plans aimed at facilitating rituals and enhancing safety, health and transportation services throughout the Hajj season.
