MAKKAH: Oman Haj Mission for the current year has completed its organisational and service preparations to receive Omani pilgrims arriving in the Holy Lands to perform the rituals of this year's Haj, amidst an integrated system of services and procedures aimed at providing the highest levels of comfort and care for the pilgrims.
The mission handed over the Mina and Arafat camps to the approved Haj companies. This handover took place following the completion of preparation and rehabilitation works at both camps, and after ensuring the readiness of basic facilities and services, including accommodation sites, technical equipment, health and catering services, alongside fulfilling safety and comfort requirements for the pilgrims.
Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Head of Oman Haj Mission, confirmed that the completion of the handover procedures of the Mina and Arafat camps to the Haj companies marks an important phase within the ongoing preparations for the current Hajj season. He explained that the mission was keen from an early stage to follow up on various field and organisational works related to equipping both camps, ensuring the provision of an appropriate and safe environment for Omani pilgrims during their stay at the Holy Sites.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he added that Oman Haj Mission worked in coordination with the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to complete all preparations related to infrastructure and operational services at both camps. This includes accommodation sites, health and catering services and safety systems, as well as preparing supporting facilities and services that contribute to enhancing the comfort of pilgrims and facilitating the performance of their rituals.
Al Rashdi pointed out that the delegation accords great importance to enhancing the level of partnership and coordination with Haj companies through field meetings and continuous inspection visits to ascertain the needs of the companies and ease any challenges they might face before the influx of pilgrims to the Holy Sites begins.
He explained that Oman Haj Mission continues to execute its operational and service plans according to an integrated programme encompassing organisational, administrative, health and awareness aspects. This aligns with the aspirations of Omani pilgrims and reflects the level of care and attention that the Sultanate of Oman dedicates to serving its pilgrims year after year. He noted that the delegation will continue implementing its field and service plans for the Haj season through its various working teams, thereby boosting readiness and preparation to serve Omani pilgrims in the Holy Lands.
It is noteworthy that this year's Haj season featured qualitative improvements, including the roofing of all tents over an area exceeding 22,800 square metres, alongside the upgrading of air conditioning and lighting systems, and a comprehensive enhancement of various camp facilities. —ONA
