JEDDAH: The Oman Haj Mission participated on Wednesday in the 50th edition of the Grand Haj Symposium, held in the city of Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The symposium discussed the most prominent issues and themes related to developing the Haj system and upgrading the services provided to pilgrims.
The participation of the Oman Haj Mission in the symposium confirms the Sultanate of Oman's keenness to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in everything that serves pilgrims and develops the Haj work system.
The symposium addressed a number of working papers and specialised sessions in the fields of crowd management, the deployment of modern technologies, and humanitarian and organisational services.
This is in addition to reviewing successful initiatives and experiences that contribute to providing a safe and facilitated spiritual journey for pilgrims.
The Oman Haj Mission was represented at the symposium by Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Head of the Mission. He delivered a speech during which he praised the advanced level witnessed by the Haj system year after year, as well as the facilities and qualitative services provided by the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have contributed to enhancing the comfort and tranquillity of pilgrims.
He also valued the level of existing cooperation and coordination between the Oman Haj Mission and the relevant Saudi authorities, pointing out that this cooperation has contributed to facilitating various procedures and providing the best services to Omani pilgrims. - ONA
