HM awarded Arab Cultural Excellence Medal

In recognition of HM's contributions to Arab culture

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), has awarded His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the Supreme Class of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal, in recognition of His Majesty’s contributions to supporting Arab culture, enhancing its presence, preserving identity and supporting intellectual and cognitive development in the Arab world.
Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, said that ALECSO’s awarding of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal to His Majesty the Sultan, affirms the Royal approach of consolidating the status of knowledge and culture for their civilisational role in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence and rapprochement among peoples.
The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) will hold an official ceremony on Tuesday at its headquarters in the Tunisian capital to honour His Majesty in the presence of senior officials, intellectuals and persons interested in Arab cultural affairs.
The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) is one of the specialised organisations affiliated with the League of Arab States. It was established in 1970 and is headquartered in Tunis, Tunisia. It is concerned with developing the fields of education, culture and science in the Arab countries, promoting Arab cultural and intellectual integration, preserving cultural heritage, and building intellectual and cultural partnerships among the Arab countries. — ONA
