MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education (MoE) honoured Jincy Abraham, Head of Mathematics at MySchool International Muscat, for her distinguished contribution to academic excellence and mathematics education in the Sultanate of Oman at a ceremony to mark the 2025-26 Omani Teacher’s Day celebrations.
Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, conferred the recognition at a ceremony held at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel recently.
The honour reflects Jincy's sustained impact in advancing mathematical learning and shaping a culture of analytical thinking among students. A respected academic leader, she has built a strong reputation for transforming the way mathematics is taught and perceived, making complex concepts accessible, engaging and relevant to real-world applications.
Reflecting on the recognition, Jincy said, “I receive this recognition with deep gratitude and humility. This award is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the collective support of my students, colleagues, supervisors, school leadership and family who have inspired me throughout my journey.”
Emphasising the broader value of her discipline, she added: “Mathematics is more than a subject — it is a way of developing confidence, discipline, and problem-solving skills in young minds. I am honoured to contribute to the educational vision of Oman and remain committed to nurturing curiosity, innovation and academic excellence among students and educators alike.”
Through innovative instructional strategies and structured academic leadership, Jincy has consistently driven improved student outcomes while fostering curiosity, logical reasoning, and confidence in young learners. In her role as Head of Department, she provides oversight for curriculum alignment and ensures that teaching standards remain in step with international benchmarks, reinforcing institutional academic excellence.
Jincy's contribution stands as a testament to the transformative power of mathematics education and its enduring impact on society. Her recognition comes at a time when educators play a pivotal role in equipping future generations with critical thinking skills and intellectual resilience.
