OCCI honours humanitarian worker

MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has felicitated Oman-based social welfare worker Syed Shaandar Ali Shah Bukhari in recognition of his significant humanitarian contributions to society.
Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the OCCI, who honoured Bukhari, described him as a ‘National Champion’ for his outstanding community service and dedication to humanitarian causes.
The ceremony, held at the OCCI headquarters, highlighted Bukhari’s efforts in social welfare, including a courageous act that helped rescue a distressed individual and avert a potential tragedy. Al Rawas conveyed appreciation on behalf of Oman, commending his selfless commitment to community wellbeing.
Al Rawas also stressed the importance of acknowledging individuals engaged in public service, stating that such recognition helps uplift unsung heroes who contribute to strengthening the social fabric and fostering positivity in society.
Bukhari, who currently serves as Director of Welfare in the Interim Committee of the Pakistan Social Club Oman, was presented with a golden memento in recognition of his exceptional contributions. Over the years, he has also been involved in facilitating the repatriation of more than 200 prisoners through community-led initiatives, helping reunite individuals with their families.
Ahmad Subhani, Member of the Foreign Investment Committee at OCCI, also attended the ceremony.
