MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by Oman Exports and in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will participate in Halal Expo 2026, scheduled to take place in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan in Russia, from May 13 to 15.
The exhibition is regarded as one of the leading international platforms for cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world in the halal economy sector. A number of Omani companies seeking to expand into the Russian market and other Islamic economy markets are expected to participate.
Oman’s participation forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the global presence of Omani products, explore new export opportunities and build trade and investment partnerships with emerging markets. The initiative also supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by promoting non-oil exports and enhancing the competitiveness of national products.
The expo brings together companies, investors and government institutions from across the Islamic world and Russia, providing a platform for showcasing investment opportunities and holding bilateral business meetings.
Lubna bint Mohammed al Harthy, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry, said Oman Exports’ participation aligns with plans to expand into fast-growing international markets, particularly Russia, where demand for halal and high-quality products is increasing.
She said the exhibition provides an important opportunity to highlight the Sultanate of Oman’s competitive strengths in food industries, manufacturing and consumer products, while also promoting the services and incentives offered to support Omani exporters entering global markets.
Mahmoud bin Sulaiman al Yazidi, Head of the Export Promotion Department at the Ministry and General Supervisor of the Omani pavilion, said the pavilion will feature a number of Omani companies and SMEs from different sectors seeking to establish new export partnerships and strengthen the presence of Omani products in international markets.
He noted that the participation will include bilateral meetings between Omani companies and counterparts from Russia and other participating countries to explore trade cooperation opportunities and expand export partnerships.
Al Yazidi added that growing participation by Omani firms reflects increasing interest from the private sector in diversifying export destinations and benefitting from opportunities in Russia and Central Asia. He stressed that the Ministry will continue implementing external trade promotion programmes aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Omani exports regionally and internationally.
The exhibition is expected to attract government delegations, investors and economic institutions from around the world, alongside specialised forums and business events focused on enhancing trade and investment cooperation between participating countries and Russia. — ONA
