AL HAMRA: The completion rate of a project codenamed 'Eastern Mountain Oasis' in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, has reached approximately 50 per cent. Spanning an area of nearly 10,000 square metres, the project features various tourism and service facilities, including a 300-square-metre investment restaurant, an outdoor theatre and 13 sitting gazebos, in addition to prayer rooms, pedestrian walkways and open spaces.
The governorate is continuing urban development works in the Al Jabal Al Sharqi (Eastern Mountain) area of Al Hamra as part of its efforts to develop infrastructure and enhance service facilities. These efforts aim to keep pace with the growing tourism movement, which reaches its peak during the summer season.
The mountain is considered one of the most promising natural destinations in the governorate due to its environmental and geographical features that attract visitors and mountain tourism enthusiasts. The increasing influx of tourists during peak seasons has reinforced the need to develop services and elevate the site's readiness.
Shaikh Sulaiman bin Said al Azri, Wali of Al Hamra, emphasised that the project is being implemented in light of the growing tourism demand and in response to the need for enhanced services. He noted that such projects contribute to raising the readiness of tourism sites and developing them to meet visitor requirements. - ONA
