SOCO hosts annual speech and drama competition

The School of Confidence (SOCO) successfully hosted its Fourth Annual Speech and Drama Competition on 2nd May 2026 at Hotel Muscat Holiday, Al Khuwair, drawing an overwhelming response from students and parents alike.

The event witnessed over 200 solo performances by children across various age groups, who confidently took to the stage to showcase their skills in public speaking, monologues and storytelling. Each participant delivered their performance independently, demonstrating remarkable confidence, expressive gestures and stage presence in front of a large audience.

The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel of six judges. Fariha Abbas and Rachna Somayajula, educators from Beaconhouse School, judged the public speaking category. The monologue segment was assessed by Juthika Gavankar and Shruti Palo from the Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG), while storytelling performances were evaluated by Neelima Goswami, a current Beaconhouse teacher and Rashmi Malhotra, a former Beaconhouse educator.

Every participant was felicitated with a certificate and medal in recognition of their effort and courage, reinforcing the institution’s belief in encouraging participation and growth.

The evening culminated in a grand prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the young performers. Over 90 students were awarded trophies across various categories for their outstanding performances. The ceremony also featured an entertaining skit performed by SOCO students, which left the audience thoroughly amused and delighted.

All six judges were present during the evening event and shared their reflections, highlighting the exceptional standard of performances and the challenge they faced in selecting winners due to the high level of competition.

The event was further graced by the presence of well-known influencers Shirin Siddiqui, Abdul Muhaimin Sada and Nysam Haneef, who expressed their admiration for the confidence and talent displayed by the students.
