SALALAH: A 3-day exhibition featuring the rituals of the Haj was opened at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.
The exhibition was organised by the Directorate-General of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate.
The exhibition aims to spread awareness about Haj rituals, provide guidance to pilgrims about ways to protect their health while travelling around among holy places and outline the services offered to pilgrims by the Omani Haj Mission.
The exhibition also seeks to identify target Islamic values, offer general information and answer the queries of visitors. It comprises various sections, including one about the locations where Haj rituals are performed, a section that provides information about the Omani Haj Mission, a section for non-Arabic speaking communities and a section for offering advice about health matters.
The exhibition also includes visual presentations about the virtues of Haj, the types of Tawaf (circumambulation and supplication), the worship of Standing at Mount Arafat, casting pebbles at Jamarat sites and other rituals.
The programme also includes a course on jurisprudence titled “The Rites of Haj” and a religious seminar on Haj that provides related spiritual advisory to members of the community about the significance of Haj.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Directorate-General of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate will implement a comprehensive preaching programme that will be carried out in mosques and prayer halls in the wilayats of the governorate.
