MUSCAT: The Omani Society for Writers and Literati (OSWL) signed an agreement with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) programme to enhance collaboration in cultural and literary fields, and to exchange scientific and practical expertise to support cultural activity and develop students’ creative capabilities.
The agreement was signed on behalf of UTAS by Dr Huda bint Salem al Shueili, Vice-Chancellor for Electronic Systems and Student Services, while the Omani Society for Writers and Literati was represented by Said bin Mohammed al Saqlawi, Chairman of the Society.
The signing of the programme reflects both parties’ commitment to strengthening institutional partnership and activating cultural initiatives that serve the community, in line with national priorities that emphasise investing in human capital and developing intellectual and creative capabilities.
The cooperation programme includes the implementation of several joint initiatives and activities, such as organising cultural evenings and events hosting prominent literary figures at the local and regional levels, and engaging university students in the cultural activities organised by the society throughout the cultural season. It also includes supporting talented students in publishing their literary works and reviewing them prior to release.
