MUSCAT: Cheltenham Muscat welcomed pupils, families, and guests for a vibrant and imaginative morning as it hosted Oman’s first-ever Lego Expo on April 25, bringing together young builders, educators, and partners in a celebration of creativity, collaboration and experiential learning.
From the moment the event opened, the campus was filled with excitement and curiosity. Displays ranged from intricate cityscapes and moving mechanical models to inventive problem-solving creations, each reflecting the imagination and effort of young learners. Pupils proudly presented their work, explaining their design process, ideas and challenges they overcame.
More than a showcase, the Expo became a platform for connection and shared learning. Students from Cheltenham Muscat were joined by peers from Sultan School, Ellesmere Muscat, ABA, Digital Private School, Muruj Al Marifa Private School, AGS, Royal Flight, Our Planet International School, TAISM, and Indian Schools, along with families and invited guests. The event also featured key partners including Future Education Academy (Event Lead Partner), Virgin Radio Oman, Blue Balloonia and Macaroon House Oman.
Cheltenham Muscat as host played a central role in delivering the event through its Academy department in collaboration with Future Education Academy, building on its 'Brain & Build' LEGO programme. Senior pupils, including Academy Ambassadors, actively contributed to planning, logistics, and on-ground coordination.
Principal Richard Snape said the Expo reflected the school’s commitment to meaningful learning.
“Our aim is always to create opportunities where learning feels alive, relevant and inspiring. The Lego Expo was a wonderful example of this in action,” he said.
Student Zayn from Grade 3 added: “I loved showing people what I built. At first I was nervous, but then it became really exciting when people were interested.”
The event highlighted the growing importance of learning through creativity, problem-solving, and communication, with organisers indicating that the Lego Expo may become an annual feature.
