Muscat: The Minister of Health, Dr. Hilal Al-Sabti, the Minister of Health, said during a session in Majlis A'Shura said that the 'Shifa' system will be an independent governmental technical entity under the umbrella of the Investment Authority.
It will work to unify health data among various institutions, including the private sector, to reduce the repetition of medical examinations.
There will be a linkage between the university hospital and the rest of the hospitals in the Sultanate of Oman, he said.
The Ministry of Health launched the Shifa app as part of the e-services initiative, offering a range of solutions for the medical sector.
This comprehensive, centralized medical application is currently linked to all Ministry of Health-affiliated health institutions, enabling users to access a variety of health services. Shifa serves both medical staff and patients.
The Shifa app allows healthcare professionals to view patient data, follow up on patients’ conditions across Ministry of Health facilities, and access medical reports.
For patients, the app provides access to their health information, test results, reports, and appointment scheduling, as well as remote doctor consultations, eliminating the need for in-person visits.
