AL DUQM: The Omani Society for Astronomy and Space was able to observe and photograph the comet 'C/2025 R3 “PanSTARS' in the sky of the Sultanate of Oman, as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor and document astronomical phenomena.
Astronomical photographer Yahya al Kindi, a member of the association, said that this observation came after a series of field attempts and careful planning that lasted for several days, in light of weather challenges that affected the possibility of observing the comet in a number of regions of Oman.
Al Kindi said he spent three days searching for suitable observation sites, given the comet's extremely low position on the eastern horizon before sunrise, which requires a clear, cloudless sky.
He noted that the first attempt was in the state of Mahout in the Al Ghadan area, but the flow of clouds at four o'clock in the morning prevented the comet from being clearly observed, which prompted him to continue monitoring the weather to choose an alternative location. — ONA
