SINGAPORE: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the Food and Hospitality Asia exhibition, with a delegation of Omani companies representing the food, beverage and hospitality sectors, as it seeks to expand its footprint in key Asian markets.
The multi-day event is regarded as one of Asia’s leading industry platforms, bringing together decision-makers, investors and innovators from across the global food and hospitality landscape. It provides a venue for forging partnerships, exploring investment prospects and exchanging expertise in emerging technologies shaping the sector.
This year’s edition features more than 2,750 exhibitors from over 115 countries and is expected to attract upwards of 80,000 visitors. The exhibition highlights advancements in food and beverage products, hospitality solutions, sustainable practices and seafood industries, reflecting shifting global consumption trends and supply chain innovations.
Mahmoud bin Sulaiman al Yazidi, Head of Export Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said Oman’s participation aligns with ongoing efforts to boost non-oil exports and strengthen access to high-growth markets in Asia. He noted that the exhibition offers a strategic platform to promote Omani products and establish direct linkages with international buyers and suppliers.
He added that such engagements are essential in enhancing the visibility of Omani goods in competitive global markets while supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s broader economic diversification strategy.
Jawaher bint Nasser al Rashidi, Export Specialist at the Ministry, said the Omani pavilion reflects the growing competitiveness and innovation within the domestic food industry. She highlighted that local producers are increasingly adopting advanced technologies and modern production methods to meet evolving global standards.
She added that participation in international exhibitions enables Omani companies to expand their market reach, stay aligned with global supply chain developments and respond effectively to changing consumer demands.
Participating firms are aiming to strengthen their international presence by showcasing high-quality products and exploring new distribution channels across the Asia-Pacific region. The platform also allows them to engage directly with potential partners, gain insights into emerging market trends and identify opportunities for collaboration.
In addition to promoting exports, the participation supports knowledge transfer in areas such as food processing, logistics, packaging and culinary innovation. Exposure to global best practices is expected to enhance the capabilities of Omani enterprises and improve their competitiveness in international markets.
