MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman will join the international community in observing the World Creativity and Innovation Day, which falls on April 21 every year.
The event seeks to highlight the use of creative thinking and technology in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this context, the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA) affirms its commitment to support and empower the scheme of innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, notably by furnishing proper grounds for research and hosting creative initiatives and national talents in a manner that contributes to the development of a sustainable economy based on deep-rooted knowledge.
Najah bint Mohammed al Rashdi, who is in charge of the directorate general of the Innovation Centre at the Research and Innovation Authority, said, 'Observing the World Creativity and Innovation Day embodies growing awareness about the importance of establishing the concepts of creativity and innovation as fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development, enhancing readiness to face global challenges and devising innovative solutions that support economic progress and social growth, besides opening up vistas for empowering youth and women and enhancing their role in building a prosperous future.”
