Turning Disability into Excellence

Success often belongs to those who refuse to be limited by their circumstances and Amaan Shoaib Ahmed is a powerful example of that spirit. At just 7 years old, the Grade 2 student at Indian School Al Seeb has turned what many would see as a limitation into a story of achievement and inspiration.
Born visually impaired, Amaan has never allowed his condition to define his abilities. Instead, he has developed a strong sense of independence and curiosity that has impressed both his teachers and peers. His journey reflects a simple but powerful idea: real vision comes from determination, not sight.
From an early age, Amaan stood out as a pioneer in using assistive technology. He became the youngest visually impaired student to independently work with digital tools, starting in kindergarten. While other children were learning basic classroom skills, he was already navigating laptops with screen readers, accessing digital textbooks and exploring knowledge beyond traditional print.
Today, his learning journey also includes artificial intelligence tools. With platforms like Google Gemini, Amaan can listen to books being read aloud and receive detailed descriptions of images, helping him access visual information through sound. His mother, Nausheen, says this has transformed his learning experience and highlights how he is setting new standards for inclusive education by embracing AI at such a young age.
Amaan’s academic and creative achievements are equally remarkable. He was featured at the National Awards for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities 2024 and holds a record in the India Book of Records for fastest typing. He has won multiple school and national competitions in storytelling, western music, recitation, Show & Tell, MS Paint and character portrayal, including events like Sargotsav ‘24 and Regalia ‘25.
He is also the winner of the Indian School Quiz 2024, the Unique Talent Recognition Award at ISTF 2024 and the Robinage Bright Spark Award 2024–25. In 2025, he received a Special Award from his school and went on to win the Science, Technology and Innovation Award (STAI).
In 2026, he earned the Memory Maestro Special Award after reciting 200 digits of Pi and 195 country names in alphabetical order from memory. He was also recognized as the Youngest Motivational Speaker by the Influencer Book of World Records and has spoken at major events such as Graduation Day 2025 and Avenir 2025.
Beyond competitions, Amaan also shares inspiration through his YouTube channel @WonderBoy_Amaan and Instagram @WonderBoy_Amaan2018, focusing on technology, AI and motivation.
