SUHAR: A ceremony was held in the Wilayat of Suhar, Al Batinah North Governorate, to mark the opening of Al Salwa Hospital for Addiction Treatment and Healthcare, under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health.
The hospital will provide advanced therapeutic and rehabilitation programmes addressing the psychological, behavioural and social dimensions of addiction, with the aim of helping patients reintegrate into society and resume productive lives.
Following the inauguration, the minister and guests toured the facility, which comprises four main buildings. The first phase includes a 30-bed inpatient ward, specialised clinics, group therapy halls and rehabilitation units.
The second phase will see the addition of a 25-bed specialised detoxification department.
The hospital will offer a comprehensive range of treatment programmes, including individual and group psychotherapy, behavioural modification and relapse prevention, as well as social rehabilitation to support long-term recovery.
Treatment duration will range from a few weeks to six months, depending on each case. Upon admission, the hospital will coordinate with the Muscat Recovery Centre to assess patients and develop tailored rehabilitation plans, followed by structured discharge and follow-up programmes.
The ceremony was attended by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, along with officials and representatives from the public and private sectors. — ONA
