24th horse racing meet thrills with nine races

The 24th horse racing meet delivered an exciting day of competition, featuring nine races for purebred Arabian and Thoroughbred horses, with varying distances and strong participation, drawing attention from racing enthusiasts.
The event opened with the first race, 'Saih Al Ula' for purebred Arabian horses over 1,200 metres, where 'Muhajim G' claimed first place. The horse is owned by Ali bin Salim al Falahi, trained by Hassan bin Mohammed al Falahi and ridden by jockey Al Moatasim bin Saeed al Balushi.
In the second race, 'Saih Al Taybat' over 1,200 metres, 'Arbi Sadiq' secured victory for owner Hilal bin Khalfan al Hasani, under trainer Waleed bin Mohammed al Yahyai, with Abdulaziz bin Fahad al Balushi in the saddle.
The third race, 'Saih Al Masarrat' over 2,000 metres, saw 'AB Mayasa' take top honours. The mare is owned by Abdulrahim bin Salem al Hajri, trained by Basim bin Abdullah al Shukaili and ridden by Abdulrahman bin Talib al Balushi.
In the fourth race, 'Saih Al Barakat' over 2,000 metres, 'Sabat' finished first for owner and trainer Sultan bin Saif al Malki, ridden by Hamad bin Sultan al Malki.
The fifth race, 'Saih Al Rahmat' over 1,600 metres, was won by 'Al Dhafir SB', owned by Saad bin Suhail al Mukhaini, trained by Badr bin Mohammed al Hajri and ridden by Al Moatasim bin Saeed al Balushi, who recorded his second win of the day.

'TURBO ONE' CLAIMS SIXTH RACE
The sixth race, 'Saih Al Thabi' for locally bred purebred Arabians over 1,600 metres, was claimed by 'Turbo One', owned by Nasser bin Suleiman al Qamshoui, trained by Younis bin Saeed al Kalbani and ridden by Qais bin Saif al Busaidy.
In the seventh race, 'Saih Al Shamkhat' for Thoroughbreds over 1,600 metres, 'Kitten' secured first place for owner Al Mundhir bin Mohammed al Mashaifri, trained by Nasser bin Hamad al Qutaity, with Hamad bin Abdullah al Balushi aboard.
The eighth race, 'Saih Al Makarem' over 1,600 metres, was won by 'Tadshin', owned by Sami bin Mubarak al Hashmi, trained by Othman bin Rashid al Hashmi and ridden by Adam bin Talib al Balushi.
The ninth and final race, 'Saih Al Mahamid' over 1,600 metres, saw 'Jadal' take first place. The horse is owned by Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Balushi, trained by Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Farsi and ridden by Mazen bin Mubarak al Yahyai.

Jockey Al Moatasim bin Saeed al Balushi expressed his satisfaction after securing two wins, saying:
“Praise be to God for the success. The competition was strong in all races and I focused on following the trainer’s instructions carefully, which helped me achieve these results”.
Trainer Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Farsi highlighted the importance of preparation in securing victory in the final race, stating: “This result is the outcome of continuous work. Proper preparation and ensuring the horse’s readiness played a key role and we look forward to maintaining positive performances in upcoming races”.
The event once again reflected the growing standard of horse racing in Oman, supported by continued efforts to develop the sport and enhance the performance of both horses and riders.
