Al Ghailani aims for strong show at Asian Beach Games debut in Sanya

MUSCAT: Oman’s triathlete Mohammed al Ghailani will aim for strong show in his debut at the sixth Asian Beach Games (Sanya 2026) which is scheduled to take place in China, Sanya city during April 22 to 30. Al Ghailani will take part at the modern triathlon (aquathlon) competition in Elite Men event category which will place on April 23 in Sanya while the other two events are Elite Women and Mixed Relay events.
Oman’s representative arrived to China to commence few training sessions under his coach Carles Fuentes Moreno ahead of the competitions start. “I am very proud to take part in the Asian Beach Games for the first time in my career as triathlete. I had took part in many other international and regional events but this the first experience at the Asian Games. I am looking for an outstanding performance in this participation and raise the flag of my country in this continental event”, he said.
“I began the year with a comprehensive training camp in Valencia, Spain, which ran from January until March. The camp was conducted under the supervision of specialised coach Carles Fuentes Moreno and focused on key performance areas including physical fitness, endurance and speed development”, he said.
“The training camp in Spain was highly beneficial, as it allowed me to work intensively on improving my overall fitness and technical abilities”, said Al Ghailani.
“We followed a structured programme designed to elevate my performance levels and prepare me for upcoming competitions. I am currently continuing his training programme with consistency and discipline, placing particular emphasis on achieving peak physical and technical readiness ahead of his next major appearance”, he said.
Looking ahead, he expressed strong ambitions to deliver a competitive performance and achieve advanced results at the Asian level. “My goal is to compete strongly for top positions, achieve personal best results and represent the Sultanate of Oman in the best possible way”, he noted.
Recently, Mohammed al Ghailani signed at Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) headquarters for continental athlete support agreements as he was among the top six selected athletes. This support event is part of a comprehensive suite of initiatives and programmes aimed at elevating technical performance standards and enabling athletes to compete in external events with efficiency and high readiness.
Oman will take part in the Asian Beach Games in five sports including: beach football, beach volleyball, beach handball, beach athletics and modern triathlon (aquathlon).
