Oman, Thailand explore cooperation

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, on Thursday received Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, who is visiting the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting dealt with bilateral relations and the growing pace of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the fields of trade, investment and tourism. It also looked into prospects for enhancing cooperation in the field of diplomatic training.
They exchanged views about the latest developments in the region and the ensuing implications for international peace and security. The ministers stressed the importance of 'building on the ceasefire agreement' and the need to devise sustainable solutions through peaceful means.
The Thai minister expressed the appreciation of his country’s government for the Sultanate of Oman’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts. He valued Oman’s outstanding role in supporting regional and international stability.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry; Shaikh Hamid bin Ali al Maani, Chairman of the Diplomatic Academy; and Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department. Also present was Warunee Pan-Krajang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
