MUSCAT, APRIL 17
Oman’s Under-20 national football team have started an internal training camp in Muscat as part of their preparations for the upcoming stage of competition.
The camp will run from April 20 to May 2, with the technical staff using the gathering to assess the selected players, improve physical and technical readiness, and continue building understanding within the squad ahead of the team’s next assignments.
The Under-20 team, under the guidance of national coach Hamad al Azzani, had earlier named a preliminary list for the Muscat camp, which is tied to preparations for the Arab Cup in July and the AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers in August. The current gathering also serves as a key technical and selection stage as the coaching staff works to identify the strongest options for the period ahead.
The current camp forms part of the team’s broader preparation programme for the coming period, with focus placed on evaluating the players, refining the squad’s technical shape and strengthening cohesion as preparations continue for regional and continental competition.
The squad named for the camp includes: Wabran bin Abdullah al Saadi, Ahmed bin Juma al Fahdi, Maktoum bin Yasser al Saadi, Mubarak bin Yousuf al Amri, Ziyad bin Khalfan al Farraji, Al Waleed bin Khalid al Buraidi, Abdulmunim bin Said al Habsi, Mohammed bin Ghanim al Sameen, Mazin bin Ahmed al Hinai, Abdulaziz bin Hafeez al Manwari, Elyas bin Badr al Ghadani, Ali bin Rabee al Alawi, Ahmed bin Nasser al Rahbi, Hassan bin Miqdar al Hinai, Yazan bin Mohammed al Khaldi, Abdullah bin Raed al Balushi, Ahmed bin Abdullah al Rawahi, Abdullah bin Khalifa al Saadi, Ibrahim bin Badr al Shamsi, Al Hassan bin Ali al Qasimi, Fahd bin Abdullah Bait Rabee, Ahmed bin Salim al Omrani, Mohammed bin Ahmed Aal Hashim, Esam bin Adil al Mukhaini, Awadh bin Khamis al Saadi and Muadh bin Younis al Hinai.
The camp is expected to play an important role in shaping the core group for the next phase as Oman continue their Under-20 build-up for the months ahead.
