President of Botswana visits SOHAR Port and Freezone

SUHAR: President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana, along with his accompanying delegation, visited SOHAR Port and Freezone on Tuesday as part of a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the visit, the guest and his delegation were briefed on the integrated ecosystem of the port and freezone, which serves as a strategic gateway connecting business activities to regional and global markets. This is achieved by leveraging the site’s strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and state-of-the-art logistics services.

The President also received a detailed overview of operational efficiency and competitive advantages that reinforce SOHAR Port and Freezone’s position as a reliable and sustainable industrial and logistics platform.
The visit programme included a tour of several flagship investment projects, most notably the United Solar Polysilicon Manufacturing Facility and the Orion Solar Project, which specialises in the production of solar cells and photovoltaic panels.
The President of Botswana was accompanied during the visit by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North and several other officials. — ONA
