Botswana’s president: embassy in Muscat to open by year-end

 

MUSCAT: President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana, said that he discussed with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, ways of fostering relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Botswana, particularly in the fields of mining, energy, green energy production and fuel.

The president said that his country is making concerted efforts to open an embassy in Muscat, and these efforts have reached an advanced stage and the embassy is expected to open by the end of this year.

He noted that this step will be followed by other initiatives including launching a direct flight route between Muscat and the capital, Gaborone with the aim of supporting economic relations and bolstering cooperation between the two friendly peoples.

The president of Botswana noted that the two friendly countries are moving forward to conclude more agreements and establish partnerships in several sectors, such as health, academic exchange, and cultural exchange.
