Al Rahba hosts thrilling 23rd race meet ahead of season finale

Al Rahba Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka hosted the 23rd horse racing meeting in a highly competitive atmosphere, featuring a 10-race card, including two races that had been postponed from the previous meeting due to a technical issue with the starting gate. The event served as the penultimate race of the season, adding further significance to each contest and performance.
The opening race, the 1,200m 'Al Saleef' race for purebred Arabian horses, saw Rawi Al Wathba, owned by Said bin Ali al Riyami, trained by Khalfaan bin Ali al Riyami and ridden by Adam bin Talib al Balushi, surge to victory with a strong finishing effort.
In the second race, the 1,200m 'Hafeet' race for thoroughbreds, Conte Bartiro claimed top honours. The horse is owned by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Badi, trained by Ali bin Ahmed al Ajmi and was expertly guided by jockey Amer bin Ali al Rasbi.
The third race, the 2,000m 'Al Khadra' race for purebred Arabians, was won by Sabat, owned by Sultan bin Saif al Malki, trained by Mohammed bin Sultan al Malki and ridden by Hamad bin Sultan al Malki, following a tactically disciplined performance.
In the fourth race, the 1,800m 'Hamasah' contest for purebred Arabians, Madmoon SB secured victory. The horse is owned by Hussain bin Badr al Sunaidy, trained by Hussain bin Ali al Sunaidy and ridden by Anas bin Salem al Siyabi, who delivered a standout ride.
The fifth race, the 1,600m 'Al Rawda' race for purebred Arabians, was won by Al Sanafi SB, owned by Saad bin Suhail al Mukhaini, trained by Badr bin Mohammed al Hajri and ridden by Moanes bin Salem al Siyabi.


AR RAGHAD CLAIMS SIXTH RACE
In the sixth race, the 1,600m 'Al Sinainah' contest for purebred Arabians, AR Raghad, owned by Said bin Amer al Sharji, trained by Amer bin Salem al Ghanimi and ridden by Mazin bin Mubarak al Yahyai, claimed first place.
The seventh race, the 1,600m 'Mahadha' race for locally bred purebred Arabians, saw Aziz Muscat, owned by Tariq bin Salem al Saadi, trained by Mohammed bin Rashid al Jabri and ridden by Yahya bin Juma al Hamdani, take top honours.
In the eighth race, the 1,600m 'Wadi Al Jizzi' race for locally bred purebred Arabians, SSR Al Barq, owned by Faisal bin Ali al Sunaidy, trained by Hussain bin Ali al Sunaidy and ridden by Moanes bin Salem al Siyabi, secured victory.
The ninth race, the 1,600m 'Al Buraimi' contest for purebred Arabians, was won by RB Epic, owned by Sadiq bin Salem al Fairooz, trained by Ahmed bin Ibrahim al Balushi and ridden by Adam bin Talib al Balushi.
NAIROND CLINCHES 10TH RACE
The meeting concluded with the 10th race, the 2,000m 'Wilayat Rakhyout' race for purebred Arabians, where Nairond, owned by Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Balushi, trained by Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Farsi and ridden by Wathab bin Said al Balushi, delivered a strong performance to secure victory in an exciting finale.
Speaking after the race, trainer Mohammed bin Ibrahim al Farsi expressed his delight, stating: “We are proud to achieve this result in such an important meeting ahead of the season finale. The team worked hard to prepare Nairond in the best possible way and this victory gives us great motivation heading into the final race”.
Jockey Anas bin Salem al Siyabi also highlighted the competitive nature of the event, saying: “The race was challenging, but we had confidence in Madmoon SB. We are pleased with this win and grateful for the trust placed in us. We always aim to deliver our best in every race”.
The 23rd race meeting concluded on a high note, setting the stage for what promises to be an even more competitive and thrilling season finale, as top horses and riders prepare for the final showdown.
