Muscat hosts Global Equestrian Champions Arabians Tour

Muscat has successfully hosted the third stage of the 2026 Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT), held from March 31 to April 2 at Al Mouj Muscat near The St Regis hotel. The three-day event brought together breeders, owners and enthusiasts from across the region for competitions celebrating the beauty and heritage of the Arabian horse.
The championship marks the third consecutive year that the international tour has been staged in Oman, reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman’s growing presence as a host for global equestrian events.
Alongside the competitions, organisers set up a traditional souq-style village at the venue, offering visitors the chance to explore Omani crafts, food and local products. Families, residents and tourists attended the event over the three days, turning the championship into a social gathering as well as a sporting event.
Several categories were contested during the championship. In the Yearling Fillies category, Shalwa al Adwan from Qatar’s Al Jumail Stud won the gold medal, followed by Julnar al Shaqab with silver and Malikah al Arab from Hleetan Qatar Stud with bronze.
In the Yearling Colts Championship, AJ Fayed from Ajman Stud in the UAE took gold, while Dinar al Shaqab finished second and ES Ghanem from Amara Stables placed third.

In the Junior Fillies Championship, al Aryam Harbah, owned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed al Nahyan of the UAE, secured gold. D Rowa from Dubai Arabian Horse Stud took silver and Expectations Al Wajba from Al Wajba Stud in Qatar finished third.
Synatra from Al Shaqab won the Junior Colts category, followed by Aesar al Wajba with silver and Sinan al Bahya from Ajman Stud with bronze.
In the senior divisions, D Najlah from Dubai Arabian Horse Stud won the Senior Mare Championship. The Senior Stallion title went to D Shahhar, also from Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, while D Samed from SK Arabians and al Aryam Shklaan from Al Aryam Arabians secured silver and bronze respectively.
Arabian horses hold deep cultural significance across the region and are closely associated with the history of the Arabian Peninsula. Events such as the Global Champions Arabians Tour bring together breeders, trainers and owners while providing opportunities to showcase bloodlines and breeding programmes from across the Gulf and beyond.
Following the Muscat stage, the Global Champions Arabians Tour will continue in Miami Beach in the United States from April 9 to 11.
