Horsira Show Jumping Championship Concludes Successfully in Barka with Strong Participation

The Horsira Show Jumping Championship concluded successfully yesterday at Horsira Equestrian Club in Barka, under the supervision of the Oman Equestrian Federation. The event was held under the auspices of Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad al Busaidy and attended by Sayyid Mundhir bin Saif bin Hamad al Busaidy, Chairman of the Federation, along with officials and representatives of sponsoring organisations, led by Jotun, the official sponsor of the championship.
Held over two days, the competition witnessed strong participation from male and female riders representing both government and private stables. The event featured intense and competitive performances across various categories, attracting a large audience that added to the vibrant atmosphere.
On the first day, Madeen bin Saeed al Yousufi claimed first place in the 130 cm category riding “Wadood,” followed by Mohammed bin Salim al Hadhrami in second place and Khalid bin Darwish al Subhi in third. In the 120 cm category, Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi secured first place riding “Fifty Fifty,” ahead of Shurooq Mahmoud and Ahmed al Shahat.
In the 110 cm category, Ahmed bin Hamood al Wahaibi took first place, followed by Sultan bin Mohammed al Harrasi and Khalfan bin Hamad al Hattali. The 100 cm category was won by Tariq bin Ziyad al Balushi, with Sayyid Abdulaziz bin Fahad al Busaidy finishing second and Mohammed Zakariya third. In the 70 cm beginners category, Sami bin Musab al Amri secured first place, followed by Ghadeer al Hamadani and Saeed al Abri.
On the second day, Madeen al Yousufi maintained his dominance by winning the 130 cm category again, while Bassam al Ghabshi repeated his success in the 120 cm category. Saeed bin Humaid al Shukaili won the 110 cm category, while Khalfan al Hattali topped the 100 cm class. Anas al Nuaimi secured first place in the 90 cm category, while Abbas al Lawati won the under-16 division.
The championship also featured accompanying activities, including food outlets, equestrian equipment displays and entertainment areas for children, creating a family-friendly environment.
At the conclusion of the event, winners were honoured across all categories, with the main event champions crowned by the patron of the ceremony.
Tournament Director Abeer Sultan expressed pride in the successful organisation of the event, highlighting the growing number of participants, particularly among youth riders, as a sign of the sport’s development in Oman.
Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi expressed his satisfaction after winning the 120 cm category on both days, noting the high level of competition and praising the organisation of the championship.
