Al Dhahirah Governor inspects damage from 'Al Masarat' depression

IBRI: Tahir bin Mabkhout al Junaibi, Governor of Al Dhahirah, conducted a field visit to inspect sites affected by the recent weather system, the 'Al Masarat Depression,' which impacted several wilayats in the governorate.
The Governor was accompanied by a number of senior officials, including governors of the wilayats, undersecretaries from the Ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (Water Resources), Housing and Urban Planning (Urban Planning), and Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Transport), as well as the Chairman of the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, along with other concerned officials.
The visit included meetings with citizens in the affected areas, where their concerns and suggestions were heard. Officials also assessed the extent of damage firsthand, particularly to infrastructure such as roads and water facilities.
During the tour, the Governor reviewed the efforts of field teams working to restore essential services, including electricity, water and telecommunications, in the affected areas.
Discussions also focused on developing sustainable, long-term solutions for managing wadi flows and water drainage to prevent future damage. Plans were reviewed for rehabilitating affected roads in the wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul and Dhank, with emphasis on ensuring smooth traffic movement.
Specialists provided detailed briefings on the nature of the damage and outlined timelines for urgent maintenance and repair works.
The Governor stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all government entities to ensure a swift response and provide necessary support to affected citizens and residents.
