Three arrested for human trafficking, child exploitation

Muscat: The General Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation has arrested three individuals of Arab nationality on charges of human trafficking.

Authorities said the suspects were found to have exploited several children of the same nationality by forcing them to beg in public places. The accused allegedly took advantage of the children’s humanitarian circumstances to generate illegal financial gains.

Legal procedures against the suspects are currently underway, officials confirmed.
