Muscat, April 1
Sohar and Al Nahda booked their places in the final of the 2025-26 Jetour Cup after coming through two dramatic semifinal ties, setting up a title showdown next week.
At Seeb Stadium, Sohar produced one of the biggest surprises of the competition by knocking out defending champions Seeb with a 1-0 victory in front of a good crowd, particularly from the home side’s supporters.
Sohar started strongly and looked the more lively side early on, but Seeb’s defence and goalkeeper Ahmed al Rawahi dealt well with the initial pressure. After Seeb grew into the game without making their chances count, Sohar took the lead in the 28th minute through Moayad al Abdulsalam, who finished off a fine individual effort. Sohar then stayed compact and protected their advantage until half-time.
Seeb improved after the break and applied sustained pressure in search of an equaliser, but Sohar defended resolutely and protected their narrow lead. Ammar al Rashdi nearly added a second for Sohar, while Seeb coach Nikola Darovic made attacking changes in a bid to rescue the tie, and Jose Gonzalez reinforced Sohar’s defence. After a tense closing spell, including seven minutes of stoppage time, Sohar held on to secure a memorable place in the final.
The match also drew the attention of the national team coaching staff, with Oman head coach Tarek Sektioui watching from the stands ahead of the next squad selection.

AL NAHDA FIGHT BACK
In the other semifinal, Al Nahda came from behind to defeat Sur 3-2 in a thrilling contest at Al Buraimi Sports Complex.
Al Nahda opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Abdulaziz al Shamousi headed home from a cross delivered by Azzan al Tamtami. Sur responded well and levelled in the 23rd minute through Sameh al Hosni, whose direct free-kick beat the goalkeeper and found the net.
The contest opened up after the equaliser, with both teams exchanging attacks before Sur moved ahead in the 35th minute through Badr al Jabri, who finished off a well-worked move from the right flank to give his side a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Al Nahda increased their attacking pressure after the interval and continued to search for a way back, while Sur looked to threaten on the counter. The equaliser eventually arrived in the 73rd minute, when Amir Alaa scored after a headed pass from Hamad al Habsi following a delivery from the right.
Al Nahda maintained their momentum in the closing minutes and continued to press, particularly through set-piece situations. With the game moving into stoppage time, the referee added five minutes, and it was during that spell that Ahmed al Kaabi struck the winner with a powerful effort from outside the penalty area to send Al Nahda through to the final.
